Prada

I love the Prada Butterfly sunglasses! The soft, sinuous curves create a dreamy look. Accentuated by shaded lenses in purple and pink combined with black, white, or lilac frames. A tortoise shell version with warmer hues is also available. Celebs including Gwen Stefani, Brooke Shields, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie (photo) have already been spotted wearing them...

Prada dinner kicks off Louis Vuitton cup in Valencia

Miuccia Prada helped rile up the normally quiet community of Spain’s third largest city Sunday, when Prada hosted a kick-off party celebrating the start of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup at Central Market. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, ChloĆ« Sevigny and her brother, Paul, Katie Grand and Ines Sastre were among the attendees who braved the light showers to attend an exclusive and intimate dinner the designer and her husband, Patrizio Bertelli, hosted before the bash opened up to nearly 2,000 guests from all over Europe and the United States, not to mention a bevy of prominent Spanish socialites.
Inside the dinner, Rem Koolhaas’s AMO think tank, in collaboration with Prada, created an installation via a series of private rooms within the party that were wallpapered with a special print. The duo also transformed some of the market vendors spaces for the party, whimsically playing with the existing stalls where truffle-infused mozzarella and pistachio paste—the latter dipped in liquid nitrogen—was served to guests by the night’s caterer, El Bulli.

Prada goes tank

Prada has teamed up with Rem Koolhaas’ think tank, AMO, for a 27-piece collection of limited-edition tees called—what else?—Obvious Classics #1. Based on “billboards from the future” that Prada first displayed as large-scale projections during its men’s S/S 07 show, the tees take a tongue-in-cheek approach to the fears and desires shaping culture today, suggesting such concepts as style-boosting pills and dream injections. The US$160 white cotton shirts will be available starting this Sunday exclusively at 22 Prada stores worldwide.

No Fur for Prada

Prada is to become the first Italian fashion house to sign up to Peta's campaign to drive fur out of fashion. Miuccia Prada, after her show, announced she was “bored with fur.” In the fashion dictionary, boredom simply means 'not on trend'. Either Prada is supporting out of an alliance to ban cruelty to animals or the House simply feels it's a little too last season. But with Prada considered to be the leading fashion house for trends, Peta is hoping it will influence other designers to follow.
In 2008 it will be 20 years since Miuccia Prada launched her first womenswear collection, but the critics of her fur-less Fall 2007 show in Milan were as ecstatic as ever. "Milan's most aware designer has thrown a wrench in the fashion works," concluded Suzy Menkes in the International Herald Tribune. "What was new? Everything ... For all the weirdness of her vision [she is] light years ahead of the rest."
