Foxy Armani Underwear

Uber babe Megan Fox
is the new face - or should we say body - of the latest Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans campaigns this season. Seriously, does it get any better than this?
Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the photos are being released next month. "Megan is young and sexy and has a lot of spirit," says Giorgio Armani. "Both Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans are all about a youthful attitude, making her the perfect choice for the collections." Well, we just think that's she's hot. Does that count?

We heart Takeshi Kaneshiro

Armani obviously has a very good eye for good looking boys. First it's Josh Hartnett for his new fragrance Diamonds for Men (I really don't approve of the name, but what the heck at least the Josh is hot) and now he's tapped Jap/Taiwanese heartthrob Takeshi Kaneshiro for his autumn/winter campaign. Does it get any better than this? Takeshi is THE man. The last two movie I saw him in was The Warlords and House of Flying Daggers. He's fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese and English! Even my boss has his photo on her wall! ....anyway this is the first time an Asian male has graced the campaign of the Italian label. Way to go Giorgio!!

Diamonds are a girl's best friend

Beyoncé has been named as the face and voice of Emporio Armani Diamonds, a new fragrance set to launch next autumn. "I have worked with my friend Beyoncé on a number of projects including Fashion Rocks and most recently she performed at my 'One Night Only' party in London," Armani said. "I am very much looking forward to this exciting collaboration between the house of Armani and such an inspirational female artist as Beyoncé, who perfectly encapsulates the Emporio Armani spirit."

Fashion Editor gets banned from Fashion Shows

New York Times fashion editor and critic, Cathy Horyn has been banned from future Armani and Dolce & Gabbana shows. Italy's big hitters hit back! They said they were sick of her "slanderous criticism". "I accept criticism but not idiocy," railed Armani. "What she published was bullshit."

No collaborations for Armani

Giorgio has always liked luxury, and his latest Armani Casa range is a testament to that. He also expressed his distaste for high street collaborations with celebrities at Milan's Salone del Mobile opening. "H&M is fantastic, but this kind of strategy is depressing because it plays with people's sense of inadequacy, treating customers as schmucks because they need the endorsement of a high-profile person to feel worthy," he said. Not that the designer is averse to budget retailers - he admits that most of his yacht is furnished with one particular yellow and blue logoed Swedish firm: "Ikea is exceptional and I sometimes imagine a category of products within my Casa line that will still give emotions but are less costly." The made-to-measure furniture is specifically aimed to mirror that offered by his new bespoke tailoring and his Prive couture collection - with regards to both service and price point. "In furniture, too, there is glamour and luxury that must be apparent, so that it differentiates itself - and justifies the price tag," he added.

Giorgio dresses John Legend

John Legend’s music may run the gamut from soul to R&B, but when it comes to his fashion, only one name will do: Giorgio Armani. The designer is outfitting the musician for his North American spring tour promoting his new album, Once Again, which kicked off April 4th in Irvine, CA. and will conclude May 5th in New Orleans, LA. On stage, Legend wears an Emporio Armani wardrobe to exude his casual yet sophisticated look of bomber jackets in grey suede and ivory leather, jacket with faux gilet paired with single pleat tux pant, and denim jeans paired with a camel trench, coat and a black leather motorcycle jacket with all over zip detailing.
When it comes to high-profile functions, this isn’t Armani’s first encounter with the crooner, however. Legend has sported Armani at both the 2006 and 2007 Grammys, a Rolling Stones/Verizon performance, on The Today Show as well as BET’s 106& Park, and most recently in his new video, Heaven. Legend also wore Emporio Armani on his 2006 world wide tour which started on October 27th in the U.S. and then travelled across Europe in December.

More glitter for Armani

Giorgio Armani has followed in the prestigious footsteps of Christian Dior to create a Swarovski crystal dress. The "Diamond Leaf" stone, which has a shape reminiscent of a leaf and a special coating to give a metallic, shadowy effect, was showcased on the dazzling finale dress at the Giorgio Armani FW 07/08 show in Milan. "Swarovski crystal brings a touch of magic to a dress, an ethereal quality, a lustre which never fails to captivate the attention," says Armani. "It was therefore a pleasure to be asked to create a new and unique crystal." Swarovski hasn't worked with a designer in this way since the Fifties, when a collaboration with Christian Dior produced "Aurora Borealis", a phenomenally successful stone that is still used extensively in the fashion industry. This year is shaping up to be a busy one for Swarovski - it is about to team up with designers such as Philip Treacy at Milan's Salone Internationale del Mobile exhibition and plans are already underway for October's enormous Fashion Rocks event, being held this year at London's Albert Hall. Also check out Gemma Ward in the latest Swarovski ad campaign below.

Spread the Red

Emporio Armani is expanding its (Product) Red campaign offerings for the summer, announcing plans to distribute fragrances and jewelry in addition to such products as swimwear, beach towels, tank tops, Bermuda shorts, and baseball caps. In addition, the collaboration with the Ghanaian contemporary artist Owusu-Ankomah, whose drawings are featured on the clothing, accessories, and packaging of the Emporio Armani (Product) Red offerings, has been continued and for the upcoming season will feature five new symboles: Five, Human, Worlds, Future, Uplifted, and Four Corners of the World. Giorgio Armani was a pioneer in his support of (Product) Red, created by Bono and Bobby Shriver for The Global Fund, since its launch at the Davos World Economic Forum in January 2006.
